The connection between real estate, entrepreneurship and nutrition may not be apparent for some—but for holistic wellness coach Tara Stone, these pursuits blend seamlessly in her approach to helping others succeed. Stone has melded her talents and interests into an approach to coaching that is wholly uncommon and exceptionally valuable.
“I really just want my clients to create success on their terms,” Stone says from her home in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. As a SUCCESS-certified Team Coach, she helps others thrive by nurturing four key areas of individual freedom: money, time, relationships and individual purpose.
Stone achieved her own financial success during 25 years in real estate. Her fierce entrepreneurial spirit led her to become the founder of three of her own breakthrough brokerages. While many would rest comfortably with such success, Stone wanted to do something more. Ten years ago, she began her career in wellness coaching. Today, she devotes most of her time to one-on-one coaching as well as group and corporate programs. It all began with her personal commitment to learning, well-being, nutrition and fun.
Even as a child, Stone knew that she didn’t want to eat animals. While some may have chosen to adopt a vegan diet and stop there, she chose to do so much more. Stone worked saving horses bound for slaughter, and continues to adopt rescue animals. After the birth of her son, she even honored him with her entrepreneurial talents to open a plant-based cafe, Grounded for Life, in Clinton, New Jersey.
“I’m very passionate about the animals in my life,” Stone says. “I really believe that I am here to prevent as much suffering as possible, whether that’s within animals or within people.”
Stone’s academic background and personal research in nutrition coupled with a desire to help others opened many doors. Today, she continues serving as a corporate coach to 260 staff members at Nirvana Healthcare Management Services. For Stone, consuming no animal products is more than an act of compassion. It’s a healthier and happier way of life.
Yet, she never forcefully pushes her lifestyle on others. When others come to her for nutritional advice, she listens closely and guides rather than lectures. After all, as Stone says, no one should try to force a child to eat a plate of broccoli.
“I really believe you just have to do what feels good, and what your brain and body respond to,” Stone says. “Whole plant-based food can be really fun in a life-energizing way. It has to be fun. Everything I do has to be fun.”
This focus on fun extends to Stone’s own style of living. She follows the NHL and is a season ticket holder for the New Jersey Devils. She also has a love of sports cars and hitting the trails in her modified Jeep. Her sense of adventure and freedom are values Stone shares with every SUCCESS Coaching client.
“I want my clients to create success on their terms,” Stone says. “I’ve honed this into four areas of freedom in people’s lives and in my own life. That means freedom around money, time, relationships and purpose.”
In their simplest terms, money or financial freedom means having the income to do the things you want to do. Time freedom liberates you from having to punch a clock. But that doesn’t mean sitting on the beach all day, either. That point leads to purpose: The security and ability to work in areas where you are truly passionate. And lastly, as Stone explains, relationship freedom provides the opportunity to engage only in the relationships you choose and that contribute to your overall mental health and well-being.
Stone knows that without these four areas of freedom, even business relationships can become mentally and physically draining, or even abusive. Rather than live that way, she wants each of her clients to embrace life through intentional living. Only by doing so can they reach the next level of success and fulfillment.
“I am very passionate about making sure I have control over my own financial security and not to become stuck in any relationship or environment I don’t want to be in,” Stone says. “So freedom with money, time, relationships and purpose are, to me, the utopia of life.”
While the four areas of freedom provide goals, not every client is the same—nor do they begin at the same starting place. That is why Stone provides an individualized coaching program. That strategy for success begins with the DiSC assessment.
Comparable to the Myers-Briggs Test in some ways, the DISC assessment serves as a tool for Stone to better understand her clients’ unique skills in communication, productivity, conflict management and more. Beginning from your DISC assessment, Stone learns more about your specific situation and goals from one-on-one coaching sessions to further hone your individual needs.
“Together, we look at any areas that may be causing stress, what we can adjust,” Stone explains. “We work with a success wheel looking at all of the aspects of someone’s life including finance, spiritual and physical self-care, love relationships and personal and professional environments. Then, we don’t tackle it all at once. Each client works through one or two areas of their life to make small changes that really make major impacts.”
The process requires a team effort between both the wellness coach and client. Stone terms this effort “commitivation.” That is, a purposeful blend of commitment and motivation. Together, Stone and her clients develop motivational goals to which clients commit. In follow-up sessions, they discuss wins, challenges and obstacles, all the while checking-in on and, when necessary, adjusting priorities.
“For me, the biggest thing with my clients is helping them to get clarity around what they actually want. Are they the person they want to be already, or do they need to do some work?” Stone explains.
For Stone’s clients, the results of this personalized strategy based on commitment can be transformative. Learning the skills and strategies to obtain freedom in money, time, relationships and individual purpose changes lives.

I am dedicated to inspiration and growth both personally and professionally with a powerful mindset. I believe in viewing my clients as a whole person, period. You cannot separate or compartmentalize authenticity.
With a strong background in real estate sales and team building including the launch of three successful brokerages my 24 years of true life experiences allows me to relate on a valid level with entrepreneurs at every stage or challenge. In 2017 I pursued a passion project making plant based eating readily available to my community by opening a vegan cafe, Grounded For Life.
I am passionate about helping people thrive so together we can do as much good in this world as possible. As a mother, wife, team leader, entrepreneur and coach my goal is to bring death to mediocrity and help myself and others see how amazing true accountability is.
I currently reside in Hunterdon County, New Jersey with my husband, son and menagerie of rescued animals. In my “downtime” life you’ll find me enjoying time at the barn with our horses, lots of family time and feeding my passion for serving others and helping animals.
